The Utah Taxpayers Association is pleased to announce that Billy Hesterman will join the Utah Taxpayers Association as President.
Billy will be replacing the current President, Rusty Cannon. Rusty has accepted the position of President and Chief Advocacy Officer at the Utah Credit Union Association (Utah’s Credit Unions). The transition will take place over the next few weeks.
“We are thrilled that Billy Hesterman will be returning to the Utah Taxpayers Association as President. With his broad experience and previous time at the Association, Billy will provide a seamless transition as the mission of the Association moves forward without skipping a beat”, said departing President, Rusty Cannon.
Billy was previously the Vice President of the Utah Taxpayers Association from 2014 to 2018. For the last six years, Billy has been a Government Affairs Specialist at the law firm Holland and Hart, where he has worked extensively on a wide variety of issues for clients in lobbying and advocacy with elected officials.
“I am honored to take the baton from Rusty and make a return to representing taxpayers to the government in the state of Utah,” said Hesterman. “Ensuring taxpayers are protected and that government is transparent and efficient is my passion. I look forward to using that passion to continue the Association’s mission in the future.”
